David Scott has been giving basketball trainings for both boys and girls elementary through college and professional age, from all over southern Indiana and Kentucky for almost 2 decades. He is widely considered to be one of the very finest basketball players to ever come out of southern Indiana and absolutely one of the best shooters. David has a total respect of all fellow players and coaches from high school days going forward up to and including today. Respect that is not only because he has a fantastic basketball player and teacher but, also because he's a good man.

 

Our Expertise

Conditioning

The conditioning portion of the lesson consists of:
Jump rope, Push ups, Crunches, Squats, Footwork/ladder work.Each exercise will be 35-45 seconds of work, w/ the other 15-25 seconds of rest, to complete 1 minute. Completing each exercise will consist of one complete circuit. The next circuit will be done in the same order, but each exercise will be performed with more difficulty. Different level players will have different level of difficulty & intensity to help push them to their limits. This portion of the lesson is to help them learn, build and maintain their level of body strength, speed, quickness, and endurance.

Dribbling Drills

More than ever ball handling has become a premium part of the modern guard driven game.  Top notch ball handling skills are not only expected of smaller players nowadays but of everyone.  The faster, quicker, confidently and more forcefully a player can dribble a ball to wherever he wants to go on the court the more valuable and effective that player will be.  With this in mind we will be performing the following drills and much more:
Dribbling drills will consist of making moves around obstacles where they will finish at the basket with a lay up or pull up jumper. As their skills improve, the drills become more in-depth and difficult. Once the basic fundamental moves have improved, hesitations and double moves will also be introduced. Double moves will be a vital part of their progression for the next level of play.

Shooting Drills

This will consist of both one-handed and two handed shooting drills. In this portion of the training, form and technique will be evaluated and help us to create proper drills to encourage a new and improved form. The main focus here is improving form and technique in order to raise effectiveness and efficiency, whereby improving percentages.

Training Program

The training program consists of general basketball drills, ball-handling and dribbling drills, shooting form, strength training and speed and agility drills. The program is designed to help the individual begin to improve their basketball fundamentals and techniques, while simultaneously improving their strength and conditioning as well as their overall endurance.

Basketball Drills

The specific drills performed will be to enhance each individuals ball-handling and dribbling skills as well as their shooting form and technique.  These drills will also be practiced thru game like situational drills.

Strength  Training

This portion of the program is designed to focus on enhancing each individuals personal strength.  The drills will be performed according to each individuals needs and abilities.

Speed and Agility

This portion of the program is designed to help each individual begin and improve their speed, quickness and agility.  The drills will be both general and sport specific to help enhance their basketball fundamentals.
